Kermit Ruffins salutes Louis Armstrong. Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, and the Neville Brothers return through concert recordings. For four days this October, WWOZ offers a reason to make an appointment with the radio.

WWOZ Festing in Place airs Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 22-25, 2026, from noon to 8 p.m. Eastern daily. Presented in partnership with the Archive of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, the celebration brings together recent and historical recordings.

These are previously recorded performances airing during a scheduled radio event. You can choose one set, stay for an afternoon or let an unfamiliar name lead you somewhere new.

Set up your listening route ahead of time

For listening through a compatible audio player or internet radio, WWOZ’s Streaming Help page lists direct MP3 links. It also provides links to the station’s iPhone and Android apps.

For Alexa listeners, WWOZ’s published instructions say to enable its skill, say “Alexa, open WWOZ,” and choose the live stream when prompted. Web Radio Info has not independently tested that route on an Alexa device.

Try your preferred route before the broadcast and save it somewhere easy to reach. If you use a screen reader, check your device’s playback controls in advance. Web Radio Info has not independently tested the player or apps with a screen reader.

Can you listen later?

WWOZ offers a two-week on-demand archive, but the station cautions that some special broadcasts may be excluded. Replay availability for this year’s Festing in Place is unconfirmed. Plan to hear a favorite set during its scheduled broadcast.

Choose a performance, settle into a favorite chair, and give the music some time. You do not need to clear four days to find a worthwhile listening appointment.

Schedule and station-published listening information checked Oct. 19, 2026. Performance times and streaming availability may change.
