The WebRadioInfo 5-Star Feature System

At WebRadioInfo, we believe music taste is personal. What one listener loves, another might skip. Because of that, we do not rate stations based on song selection or genre preference.

Instead, we rate internet and community radio stations based strictly on features.

The more tools a station gives you to plan, discover, and control your listening experience, the higher it scores.

Our rating system is progressive. Each higher level includes all features from the levels below it.

Here is what each rating means for your daily listening experience.

⭐ 1 – 24-Hour Programming (Foundation)

What it means:
The station broadcasts continuously without dead air.

Why it matters:
Dependability. Whether you are awake at 3:00 AM or listening during a mid-afternoon work session, you can click the stream and immediately hear content.

This is the foundation of all strong radio.

⭐⭐ 2 – Provides a Program Guide

What it means:
The station publishes a clear, organized schedule.

Why it matters:
Predictability. If you use timers, smart speaker routines, or recording devices, a program guide allows you to plan your listening with precision.

Without a schedule, you are guessing.

⭐⭐⭐ 3 – Provides Program Descriptions

What it means:
Shows include written descriptions explaining format, genre, or focus.

Why it matters:
Discovery. Knowing a show airs at 8:00 PM is helpful. Knowing what that show actually features is powerful.

Descriptions save time and help you decide whether to tune in or record.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 – Has a Curated Host

What it means:
Programs are led by real hosts who guide the experience.

Why it matters:
Human connection. A curated host provides context, storytelling, background information, and personality. This transforms radio from a playlist into a shared experience.

Host-driven programming is one of the strongest indicators of quality community radio.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 – Archive of Previous Programs (Premium Level)

What it means:
The station offers access to past shows through an archive or on-demand playback.

Why it matters:
Ultimate flexibility. If you miss a broadcast due to schedule conflicts, power outages, or internet issues, an archive acts as your safety net.

You can listen on your own time without losing access to great programming.

This is the gold standard of internet radio structure.

Why We Use a Feature-Based Rating System

Radio enjoyment is subjective. Structure is not.

By rating stations on measurable features instead of personal taste, we provide a clear, consistent, and fair evaluation system that helps listeners:

• Plan recordings
• Discover new programs
• Identify host-driven content
• Prioritize stations with archive access
• Compare stations objectively

Our goal is simple: make audio entertainment easier to navigate.
