Snug Harbor Jazz Revival Series Week 1 Recap

Snug Harbor Jazz Revival Featuring Topsy Chapman

The Snug Harbor Jazz Revival series on Stageit got off to an excellent start with the internationally renowned group Topsy Chapman & Solid Harmony. The band was in great form as Topsy started the set with a quick Let The Good Times’ Roll intro, followed by a vocal version of All Blues and It Had To Be You to show off their harmonic prowess. The band stepped forward with Caleb performing the hit Can’t Hide Love, and it wouldn’t be New Orleans if they didn’t play the Mardi Gras theme Go To The Mardi Gras.

Jolynda and Yolanda performed soulful renditions of At Last and Lovers.

Trombone/ vocalist Caleb put the show into overdrive with the cut Pig Feet And Bar-B-Que. Next up was the ballad My Funny Valentine with outstanding vocals and band play throughout. All the band members had a turn to showcase their musical chops with pitch-perfect solos on several arrangements.

The band ended the show with the great Topsy Chapman on lead vocals singing the gospel favorite I’ll Fly Away. What a night!

The Snug Harbor Jazz series continues on February 21st for more information click here.
