This Friday, February 13th, is World Radio Day. It is the one day a year UNESCO dedicates to the medium that connects us all, from the strongest broadcast towers to the quietest internet streams.
The theme for 2026? “Radio and Artificial Intelligence.” The official slogan? “AI is a tool, not a voice.”
This hits close to home. At WebRadioInfo, we don’t run from technology. In fact, we use advanced tools every day to organize, index, and secure the vast world of internet radio. But we believe the magic of radio is strictly human.
Algorithms are great at predicting what you might like based on data points. But they are terrible at understanding why you like it. They can’t feel the warmth of a vinyl crackle, the tension of a live sports broadcast, or the comfort of a familiar voice late at night.
That is why we are building something different here.
Think of WebRadioInfo not just as a directory, but as your Audio Concierge. We use technology to handle the logistics, but we use human taste and decades of listening experience to curate the playlist. We cut through the algorithmic noise to bring you the signals that actually matter.
The Plan for Friday: To celebrate, I will be highlighting a few stations that prove why the “Human Element” is irreplaceable, even in 2026.
How will you be listening this Friday? Let me know in the comments.
