Accessibility Statement

Web Radio Info is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit created to serve blind and low-vision listeners. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us. It is central to our mission.

This statement explains the accessibility practices currently in place, the limitations we know about and how to contact us if you encounter a barrier.

Our Commitment

We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

These guidelines are designed to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive and neurological disabilities.

We are not claiming full conformance at this time. We are publishing this statement to describe our progress honestly and give visitors a direct way to report accessibility problems.

Accessibility Practices Currently in Place

Our current practices include:

  • Descriptive alternative text for images published since mid-2025, written to communicate the important scene and context rather than repeat a filename
  • Semantic headings and navigable menus intended to help visitors understand and move through the site
  • Clear link and button labels, such as “Access the Full Transcript,” instead of vague phrases such as “click here”
  • Detailed, screen-reader-friendly descriptions for staff and program images
  • Accessibility reviews of new posts before publication

Known Limitations

We want to be open about the areas that still need improvement:

  • Older posts: Some images published in 2024 or earlier have brief, filename-derived or incomplete alternative text. We are reviewing and correcting these descriptions over time.
  • Missing alternative text: Some older footer, decorative or archived images may still be missing alternative text.
  • Third-party content: Streaming players, social-media posts, syndicated audio and other embedded services may not meet the same accessibility standards as content created directly by Web Radio Info. We do not control how those platforms are designed or maintained.
  • Testing status: This statement is based on our own review. Web Radio Info has not yet completed an independent third-party accessibility audit.

This could include:

  • An image without a useful description
  • A page that is difficult to navigate with a screen reader
  • A link or button that is unclear
  • A streaming player or embedded feature that cannot be operated accessibly
  • Any other problem that makes our content difficult to use

Please include the page address and a brief description of the problem when possible. We read every message, prioritize accessibility concerns and will do our best to respond promptly.

Ongoing Work

Accessibility is a continuing process. We are reviewing older content, correcting alternative-text gaps and checking new posts before publication.

We will update this statement as our website, testing practices and level of accessibility improve.
